2007 KWV Roodeberg, Western Cape, South Africa

High Mellowness Factor

Very dark ruby red in the glass with aromas of wild berries, dark chocolate and vanilla. Full-bodied, rich, harmonious and fruit-accented on the palate with mild, well-integrated tannins. The cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot has 13.5% alcohol by volume, but is elegant and has no forceful effect at all.

“For over 50 years KWV Roodeberg, the legendary red wine from the cellars of the famed winery on the Cape, has been the hallmark of South Africa. The grapes from favoured locations on the Western Cape are fermented separately by variety and aged in wooden barriques before being married into this cuvée. South Africa’s wine guide, John Platter, sees nothing less than the “The institution of Cape viniculture” in KWV Roodeberg! And the magazine Weinwirtschaft ranks it among the top 100 wines of 2008.” (Wine merchant vino scout)
