2000 Shiraz “Individual Vineyard” from Paringa Estate, South Australia
2000 Shiraz “Individual Vineyard” from Paringa Estate, South Australia

Visit to the Christmas market

Deep, dense cherry red with crimson edge in the glass. The bouquet is characterised by ripe cherry and berry aromas, dried fruit and plum cake. Rich, balanced notes of yeast, gingerbread spices, cinnamon and vanilla on the palate. A markedly charming and not too heavy varietal Shiraz.
The Paringa vineyard lies 260 km northeast of Adelaide on the banks of the Murry River and is almost exclusively reserved for the cultivation of the Shiraz grape. The area is very low in precipitation and the primarily sandy soil with low proportion of clay is optimal for the Shiraz. The winery is owned by Alan and David Hickinbotham, members of the most prominent and historically significant wine-growing family in Australia. Mike Framilo, the cellarmaster at Paringa, is a star of the Australian wine-making scene and a master at handling the Shiraz grape.

Alcohol content: 14% by volume, drinking temperature: 16–18° C
