2001 Cabernet Sauvignon / Shiraz “Private Bin” from Hardys, Southeast Australia

Dense aromas and intensive taste of black cherries, harmoniously integrated tannins and a lean structure make this cuvèe of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz the ideal and reasonably priced accompaniment to food and wine for after work. Hardys, one of the largest family-owned companies in Australia, produces high quality wines that have been richly rewarded internationally on over 1,000 hectares of grape-growing land in various growing areas. Wines of numerous levels of quality are bottled under several brand names. Exceptional wines, typical of their varieties, grow on rocky soils containing lime sandstone. The two winemakers, Geoff Weaver and Tom Newton, use state-of-the-art methods to develop wines of maximum complexity and richness.
