Miele is pleased to support ‘The Greenhouse by Joost’ project, an exciting exhibition and event space with a focus on raising public awareness of sustainable building methods and products.
With its contemporary take on sustainable construction methods, the Greenhouse is open to the public at Federation Square in Melbourne from 30 October 2008 to 29 January 2009.
It is designed by Joost Bakker, a Melbourne-based designer recognised for his installations composed largely from waste materials, wherein his trademark style juxtaposes nature and industry.
This energy efficient and sustainable space has been constructed entirely from recycled or recyclable materials and contains a day-time café that serves as a platform for spring/summer entertaining. A Miele commercial dishwasher, together with a wall-mounted oven and other cooking appliances that includes rangehoods, induction cooktops and deep fryers will be presented in an open plan kitchen and will complement the other sustainable equipment displayed throughout the Greenhouse.
