Architect Moritz Lau-Engelhausen invested over six years of his life in the design and construction of this ambitious project. The "Cerês–Am Meer" hotel – named after a small, mysterious dark planet that revolves around the sun in its own orbit – appears from the outside as a temple to all things white and gleaming.

Yet on the inside things are quite different, with dark materials such as black Chinese sandstone, black-brown woods and dark grey fabrics dominating, contrasting with polished metals and lots of natural light.

Lau-Engelhausen wanted the building to radiate a sense of self-confidence, effortless elegance, expanse and tranquillity, and he has achieved exactly that. All 50 rooms and suites feature high French windows, balconies and terraces, an are extremely comfortable.

The "Negro" restaurant combines select regional produce (fish, vegetables, fruit, wild herbs, and cheese) with international flavours (lemon grass, ginger, vanilla, saffron, etc.), resulting in intense, nuanced and clearly structured dishes full of innovative and hugely enjoyable combinations.

Water is the main feature of the "Senso Spa", which offers guests a sense of wellbeing and inner balance – exactly as you'd expect from a trip to the Baltic Sea.
