Since its inception in 1997, Tasting Australia has become a huge international success. The biennial festival is the perfect opportunity for food and drink professionals, the world’s food, drink and travel media, and the public to enjoy the best that the nation and particularly South Australia has to offer in terms of produce, food products, wines and beers, and hospitality and tourism.
 
Tasting Australia also provides a showcase for the world’s top culinary talents.
 
The countdown has begun to the next event – our eighth - taking place from April 26 to May 2, 2012.
 
Tasting Australia is the nation’s premium provider of networking opportunities for anyone with an interest in fine foods and beverages.
 
It promises to be a unique event, providing entertainment, information and education. There are more than 60 public events planned for the festival.
 
The cream of the world of gastronomy will be at Tasting Australia 2012.

The  Miele Celebrity Class Acts Cookery Classes is a rare chance for food lovers to enjoy an intimate cookery experience with some of the best in the business.

The Miele Celebrity Class Acts Cookery Classes provide a rare chance for food lovers to enjoy an intimate cookery experience with some of the best in the business, among them leading chefs Miguel Maestre and Justin North from Sydney; from Melbourne Guy Grossi, George Calombaris and Philippe Mouchel; and from the UK, Richard Fox and Tony Hadley, who also knows a thing or two about food and beer. South Australia’s very own Simon Bryant will also be taking part in this event.

Held in the Miele Gallery classes can only fit 12 guests at a time so bookings fill rapidly.

Kids in the Kitchen presented by San Remo

Young people will take part in hands-on cooking classes with celebrity chefs and cooks during the Tasting Australia festival. Kids in the Kitchen presented by San Remo will give children the opportunity to learn about the principles of simple and delicious food preparation with their cooking heroes.
 
With four sessions held each day, over two days at the BankSA Feast for the Senses,  youngsters will experience numerous food cultures and have the enjoyment of eating the fruits of their labours with their celebrity chef and cook instructors.
 
Youngsters aged from 8 to 12 will have the chance to learn about the principles of simple and delicious food preparation with their cooking favourites at these FREE sessions.

Among the teachers are Paul Mercurio, Pete Evans, Anna Gare, Matt Stone, Stephanie Alexander, George Calombaris, Miguel Maestre, Guy Grossi, Adrian Richardson, Maeve O’Meara, Philippe Mouchel, Martin Bosley, Matthew Kemp, Richard Fox, Mark Hix, Tony Hadley.

Sammy and Bella Jakubiak from My Kitchen Rules will be the Master of Ceremonies.

 The local heroes Maggie Beer, Simon Bryant, Andre Ursini, Poh Ling Yeow, and Adam Swanson will all have a role to play.

Take a dozen or so of the finest Australian and overseas restaurant chefs, put them on an open stage at the BankSA Feast for the Senses, add the finest produce, some great recipes, and giant screen coverage and you have the ingredients for a great culinary experience.
 
The Miele Chefs’ Showcase will entertain over two days with demonstrations by the best in the business. And it’s FREE as part of the BankSA Feast for the Senses.

The star cast of celebrities includes George Calombaris, Guy Grossi, Maeve O’Meara, Anna Gare, Paul Mercurio, Matthew Kemp, Adrian Richardson, Miguel Maestre, Richard Fox, Mark Hix, Jeremy Strode, Pete Evans and Tony Hadley.
